PHP md5_file

Description

md5_file - Calculates the md5 hash of a given file

string md5_file( string filename [, bool raw_output] )

Calculates the MD5 hash of the file specified by the filename parameter using the » RSA Data Security, Inc.MD5 Message-Digest Algorithm, and returns that hash. The hash is a 32-character hexadecimal number.

Parameters

• filename

  The filename

• raw_output

  When TRUE, returns the digest in raw binary format with a length of 16. Defaults to FALSE.

Return Values

Returns a string on success, FALSE otherwise.

Coming Project features

Project features that we are currently working on:

• Done - Site. A place for php.js of it's own. See: phpjs.org.
• Done - Compile. Compile your own php.js version, with only the functions you need. Should generate a hash with which you can retrieve latest versions of your php.js combination.
Done - Testsuite. A better test-suite that can be ran locally so developers can easily test before commiting. Also the testing itself should be more thorough.
• Done - Versioning. Individual functions are versioned, but the entire library should be versioned as well.
